Young People's Networking Dialogue on Recovery
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) will convene a Young People's Networking Dialogue on Recovery at the Renaissance Harbor place Hotel in Baltimore, MD on December 13, 2010. This day-long meeting will provide participants — primarily young people (18 – 25 years of age) in recovery and family members of young people in recovery, an opportunity to share creative ideas about developing a community-based recovery-oriented system of care for young people in or seeking recovery. A list of objectives for the meeting is attached. Click here for the final agenda.

On December 16, following the Young People’s Networking Dialogue on Recovery, two youth participants will present an overview of key recommendations and “next steps” during a plenary session at the 10th Annual Joint Meeting on Adolescent Treatment Effectiveness (JMATE). The Widening the Door of Entry to Recovery for Young People reports on the ideas for moving an agenda forward that supports young people seeking or in recovery. The youth participants will be joined on the podium by R. Gil Kerlikowske, Director, White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, and Kevin Jennings, Assistant Deputy Secretary, Office of Safe & Drug Free Schools, U.S. Department of Education.
