California Court Rules School Staffers Can Administer Rx Drugs

The California Supreme Court ruled that trained, unlicensed public school workers can administer insulin and other medications to children without calling in a licensed nurse. The Justices wrote that the state education code permits school employees to give such medications with the written permission of a student’s treatment physician and parents.
