New Resource for Hispanic Americans with Pain

The American Pain Foundation (APF) launched its “Explain Your Pain” initiative today to educate Hispanic Americans about chronic pain, empower them to seek the pain care they deserve and foster improved dialogue between people with pain and health care providers. An “Explain Your Pain” brochure, available in Spanish and English, contains a convenient self-assessment worksheet for people with pain to track how their pain feels, where it hurts and when they hurt before they visit their health care provider. Completing the worksheet and sharing it with a health care provider gives important insight into an individual’s pain and helps people with pain communicate effectively so they receive timely, appropriate care.
