Seniors Need Help in Managing Medications

About 38% of seniors over the age of 85 need help managing their medications, according to Netherlands researchers who published a study in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society. The researchers found that younger demographics may need help, as well, with 10% of those between the ages of 65 and 69 reporting they need help managing their medications. An aging baby boomer population has fueled a dramatic increase in older adults in the United States. By 2050, adults over age 65 will account for more than 83 million U.S. residents. That's almost double the number from 2012, according to U.S. Census projections.
