Turnout Strong for 7th Rx Drug Take-Back Day

Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) reports that nearly 650,000 pounds of unneeded prescription medications were properly disposed of during the October 26, 2013 National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, the second-largest amount of drugs collected since the events were initiated in 2010. More than 5,500 locations participated across all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and United States territories. To date, more than 3.4 million pounds of medications have been turned in to officials at these events, helping to prevent diversion, misuse, and abuse of the drugs.
