Be MedWise Prescription for Taking OTC Medicines

On September 10, 2003, Dr. Richard H. Carmona issued his new Be MedWise Prescription for Taking OTC Medicines to the American public. Containing a list of important questions to ask the pharmacist or doctor about the selection and appropriate use of OTC medicines, Dr. Carmona's "prescription" is intended to help consumers when they are thinking about nonprescription medicines and making their purchasing decisions.

Print out the Surgeon General's "OTC prescription" and take it to your doctor's office or to the pharmacy when you need to buy your OTC medicines.
