The health/medical information provided on BeMedWise.org is revised and reviewed by healthcare professionals. All written material on BeMedWise is reviewed by the NeedyMeds president, Dr. Rich Sagall, and Editorial Associate, Dr. Michael Woods for accuracy and balance of opinion. The intent of our written material is to inform and clarify issues promoting the safe use, storage, and disposal of medicines for better health. BeMedWise.org does not host advertisements. Several organizations have provided grants to fund educational awareness campaigns and reports, and donations and various levels of support with logos and links for our supporters have provided additional funding. Our editorial and information content is free of any commercial influence.

Editorial Staff

Richard J. Sagall, M.D.

Rich Sagall, MD, received his medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio at Toledo. After completing his family practice residency at the Eastern Maine Medical Center, Bangor, ME, he practiced family medicine and occupational medicine there for nearly 20 years. He now lives in Gloucester, MA. Working with Libby Overly, a medical social worker, they started NeedyMeds in 1997. Rich has written articles on assistance programs and occupational medicine topics for a number of publications. He has given presentations on patient assistance programs and occupational medicine throughout the country.

Michael Woods, M.D.

Michael Woods, M.D., received his medical degree from Tufts University and completed a pediatric residency at Hershey Medical Center in Pennsylvania. He practiced pediatrics for 27 years in Maine and Massachusetts. Presently, Mike is project manager and medical editor for HealthWebNavigator.org, a website of medically-reviewed health-related websites as well as content editor for PlanForPassingOn.org. Prior to his current work, he was the editor of Consumer Health information at EBSCO in Ipswich, MA.
